Nerve and DJ Arkitext- The American Lowlife
Dear Listener,
How are you? Hope everything is well. Remember that time we went out drinking and hit on, what happened, to be the bouncer’s girlfriend? You still owe me for the hospital bills. But it was kind of you to ask about the album while I was in the ICU. It’s so nice that this record can finally see the light of day. There were times that we never thought that it would. After countless ups and downs, failed record deals, a stint in rehab, hollow promises and more than one case of heartbreak, our album has finally been heard. Touching on all of the subjects above, we wanted to make an album that had songs that were serious as a suicide note and songs that just made the listener smile. Nerve and DJ Arkitekt have been playing around the cities for the last two years, bringing our odd mix of indie hip hop ethos to a melodic pop format. We have had the good fortune to share stages with the likes of Muja Messiah, Dodi Phy, Lil Buddy Mclain, Mike Page, J Isaac, M.anifest, Eyedea of Eyedea and Abilities, Real Spit Rick and others. We began recording this album almost a year and a half ago. After beginning the recording process nearly a year and a half ago, we were blessed with such great local guests like St. Paul Slim of Stophouse, Adam Levy of the Honeydogs and Joe Christenson of White Light Riot. As fans of our great Twin Cities scene, we hope that we can find a niche among so many great artists.
